Do you want to sleep more often in the heat? Don't you think that everyone has it?

New research shows there's a "switch" in the brain that makes you want to sleep more.

when it's hot outside. Discuss

Researchers from Northwestern University conductedexperiment with fruit flies and found that the insects are actually "pre-programmed" to take a nap in the midday heat. The findings follow a 2020 report that reported a "built-in thermometer" that activates in cold weather. Now it turned out that there is a similar effect for hot days.

The brain of flies, as the experiment showed, reacts totemperatures above 25 degrees Celsius. This was the fruit fly's favorite temperature. Researchers say it's also the most comfortable temperature for many people. But if it's hotter outside, you may start to feel like taking a nap.
