Australian wildfires have killed many animals and left some seriously injured. Most affected
But some were saved, for example, six-year-old Australian cattle dog Bear helped find more than 100 wounded koalas. As a result, they received medical assistance on time.
The dog was specially trained to find koalas by the smell of fur and feces at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Since the dog had to work in harsh conditions, its paws were protected by special boots:
The koalas rescued by Bear were able to survive.For these services, the dog was given an award from the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) for bravery in saving koalas. For this purpose, the dog was specially brought to the ceremony in London.
The Foundation staff stressed that the Bear played an extremely important role.
