Drunk Russian soldier overturns $160 million S-400 anti-aircraft missile system

The day before, Russian media published a video and photo of the anti-aircraft missile system

S-400 (according to US and NATO codification - SA-21 Growler), which flew off the road and overturned. Today it became known that a Russian soldier was to blame for the accident because he got behind the wheel while drunk.

What is known

The S-400 fell into a ditch on April 20 at about 10:00:30 (EET), after which law enforcement agencies restricted the movement of vehicles. The car remained lying on its side until the evening. The incident occurred on the M2-Crimea highway near the village of Prudnoye in the Tula region.

The truck overturned right on the rockets, but they didn'texploded. As it became known, the 33-year-old soldier who was driving was in a state of intoxication. He lagged behind a column of eight tractors and fell into a ditch. The Russian serviceman was not injured, apart from a broken arm.

S-400 is a new anti-aircraft missile system. It entered service in 2007. The cost of one machine in export prices is approximately $160 million.
