Researchers have been working on layered films ofcobalt oxide. In the latest work, the team wanted to study the thermal and chemical stability of these films, as well as measure their ZT values at high temperatures.
They tested cobalt oxide films with sodium, calcium, strontium and barium. In particular, their structure, resistivity and thermal conductivity were analyzed.
They found that the barium cobalt oxide layered film remained stable at temperatures up to 600°C in terms of structural integrity and electrical resistivity.
The authors noted that the film is also safe for the environment.
