Twitter insisted that the trial take place in mid-September. However, Musk's team asks that the trial take place no earlier than February 13, 2023.

Twitter filed a lawsuit against Musk at the beginning of thisweeks after he formally sought to back out of his $44 billion deal to buy the company. Almost as soon as he announced his intention to cancel the deal, Twitter chairman Bret Taylor said the company would go to court to force Musk buy social media.

Musk's main argument in favor of terminationmerger is that Twitter did not provide it with data to “independently assess the prevalence of fake or spam accounts on the platform.”
