Counterpoint Research researchers have published a new report on the results of the mobile market in the first quarter of 2022.
On the other hand, the largest distortion is observedin North America, where more than half (52%) of smartphones sold are iPhones. Samsung (30%) also feels good there, and Motorola ships 5 times more devices than Google. The situation is similar in Latin America, but the leaders here are completely different: Samsung (44%) leads by a huge margin, followed by Motorola (17%) and Xiaomi (11%), while the Cupertinos are content with a modest 5%. In Europe, in addition to the clear leaders represented by Samsung and Apple, every seventh smartphone is Xiaomi (14%), and every tenth is BBK (OPPO, Realme, Vivo).
The MEA region (MiddleEast and Africa), where Apple didn't even make the top five. The explanation is trivial - for the most part, these are poor countries whose inhabitants prefer smartphones of the lower price segments from Samsung, Xiaomi and the Transsion holding (Tecno, Infinix, itel).
