Appearance and equipment
The package includes a HomeBase 2 station,power adapter (12V, 2A), two eufyCam 2 Pro cameras, bracket, USB-A to micro-USB cable, mounting screws and anchors, indoor mount and hook, stickers and documentation.
The station is light, almost weightless.White plastic and rounded lines look nice, but the lack of mounting holes for wall mounting is frustrating (although the form factor of the device also interferes with installation).
The following interfaces are located on the back of HomeBase 2:
- Power socket.

- Ethernet port.
- Reset button.
- Button for synchronization / disabling the alarm.
We offer to evaluate the appearance of the cameras from the photo. The cameras weigh almost 400 grams each. Most of it is the battery and the magnet for mounting.
The magnet allows you to attach the camera to any suitable surface and without mounting accessories.
The body of the device is made of plastic andcomplies with IP67 dust and moisture protection certification, which allows it to be used for outdoor video surveillance. However, this issue should be approached with caution: batteries do not tolerate both heat (do not underestimate heating in direct sunlight) and cold (in most of the Russian Federation, temperatures drop below the declared -20 ° C in winter).
The front panel is made of soft glossy plastic. Even 20 minutes of transportation in a plastic bag could leave a lot of scuffs on it (we strongly do not recommend repeating our experience).
Under the panel are hidden:

Installation
There are three options for installing cameras:

Software and features
To use EufyCam 2 Pro, you need to downloadproprietary application, establish a connection with HomeBase 2, and then synchronize the base with the camera. One base supports up to 16 connected cameras. Communication takes place via Wi-Fi.
In normal mode, the scheme of operation is as follows:
- The camera starts shooting as soon as the motion sensor detects this very movement (the sensitivity and the trigger zone can be adjusted. The declared range is 7.5 m).
- The recorded video (adjustable duration) is sent to HomeBase. The amount of memory is 14.7 GB. When the limit is reached, old videos are overwritten (3 months, 20 videos each 30 seconds long).
- HomeBase notifies the user with a push notification.
The quality of the recorded video depends ontasks assigned to the camera and shooting conditions. In our opinion, the detailing for this type of technique is quite satisfactory, and the wide angle allows you to cover a significant area. However, it is better to form your own opinion on the examples below.
Examples of video shooting
Response zones are configurable (in the framea rectangle is set, in which the movement will be taken into account, and in the rest of the space it will be ignored), private zones (a black rectangle overlapping the video is set), as well as reaction objects (any movement or only people).
When activated in night mode, an audible click is heard.

HomeBase does not have a built-in battery, butThis means that it only works when connected to an external power source. By default, this is a network, but if you wish, you can get an external uninterruptible power supply of the eufy series or its analogue.
In turn, eufyCam 2 Pro is equipped witha battery of unknown size (according to the comments on Reddit - about 13,000 mAh), which is offered to be charged either from HomeBase or from any 5 V / 2 A power adapter. The claimed charge time from 0 to 100% is 12 hours. Supports solar power. A suitable temperature for charging is from 5 to 25 ° C, which means that in cold weather it is better to let the cameras warm up.

Fine-tuning sensitivity, recording duration and active zones allows you to customize the behavior of cameras for a particular scene, which can potentially extend the already impressive autonomy. It can be recommended to take a closer look at it for those who are looking for an amateur-level video surveillance / warning system.
It is important to note that EufyCam 2 Pro is notis positioned as a security complex that can be put on the control panel of a rapid response group. Think of it as a video monitoring system that you can mount yourself. For such purposes, it is quite suitable.
