Every fifth Russian is afraid of being replaced by a robot

According to a survey by the Zarplata.ru service, 22% of respondents fear that they may soon be left without work,

because workplace processes will be automated. Of the 22% of respondents who answered positively, the majority were women: 64% of them versus 36% of men.

Also, respondents believe that in the futurethe number of familiar professions will be reduced by 20%, but new ones will appear related to biology, genetics, artificial intelligence, science and innovation. 

Experts note that in the near future, professions where you need to perform routine actions, for example, cashiers and call center operators, may disappear. 

Most of all, they fear for their work:

  • sellers - 10%,
  • cashiers and warehouse workers - 9%,
  • couriers and drivers— 7%,
  • administrators — 6%,
  • waiters — 5%,
  • cleaners - 3%.

The study was conducted in all regions of the country, 1,992 respondents took part in it.
