On May 19, 1980, Apple Computer unveiled the new Apple III in Anaheim, California, which became the first failure in history.
This computer was planned asa business-oriented personal computer and successor to the Apple II, but failed. It is noteworthy that this is the first computer, the creation of which had marketing goals above all else.
Steve Wozniak oversaw Apple II and believed thatnothing new needs to be done, because the ideal, in his opinion, computer has already been created. Apple III went to the marketing department and personally to Steve Jobs. Then he held the position of vice president of research and development company. Jobs rigidly set the dimensions and shape of the new computer, and also forbade the installation of fans, and the heat sink problem had to be solved using a heavy aluminum case. A new OS was created for the new computer and the Apple II programs were not suitable for it, but in order not to lose the fans of the previous generation, they left the option to boot in the old mode.
