Expert warns that TikTok captures everything, down to every keystroke

Cybersecurity expert Felix Krause said that after researching the social network TikTok using

a proprietary tool InAppBrowser found out that the resource was monitoring users. Discuss

Moreover, this is not just a collection of a certaininformation, but tracking all user actions, up to clicks and keystrokes, as well as entering forms on websites. Krause explained this possibility with JavaScript built into the social network browser specifically for surveillance.

This is also confirmed by the fact that when you open a third-party link, TikTok does not even offer to use the device's browser - it opens the page in the built-in browser by default.

TikTok commented on this information andacknowledged that the browser does indeed have code embedded "to improve the user experience". According to them, this code is needed to fix errors within the application and send reports to the support team.

“The company did it on purpose. This is a non-trivial engineering problem. This does not happen by mistake or by accident,” Krause said.
