FAA clears delivery of Boeing 787 Dreamliners after 15-month hiatus due to production effects investigation

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has authorized deliveries of Boeing 787 aircraft for the first time since spring 2021.

What is known

In the fall of 2020, the American regulator launchedinvestigation of manufacturing defects that were identified in several Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. In May 2021, the company made the decision to suspend deliveries of the jetliners amid FAA concerns about quality control.

August 8 Federal Office of CivilAir Force allowed Boeing to resume deliveries of the Dreamliner. The first aircraft after a pause of 15 months was to be received by American Airlines on August 10.

Until the end of the year, one of the largest customersBoeing 787 Dreamliner plans to receive nine aircraft under a contract for the supply of 43 aircraft. Boeing officials said the company continues to work with the FAA and customers to relaunch the 787 Dreamliner as soon as possible.
