EW Gaze, a company that sells vegetable seeds in Canada, wanted to advertise Walla Walla onion seeds on Facebook.
The company apologized for the mistake madeits algorithm. As noted by Facebook experts, "it is obvious that the algorithm simply confused the shape of the bow and suspected that they might look like a chest or buttocks."

“We use automated technology,to shield our users from sexual content, but sometimes the algorithm can be wrong, and the moderators cannot cope with the amount of information that is posted on the social network every day. We have reinstated this post and we apologize if this led to business troubles, ”said Facebook spokesman Meg Sinclair.
EW Gaze noted that they were inthe process of digitizing all products so that their customers can buy them online amid the coronavirus. This led to their online advertising campaigns budgeting to grow, but they didn’t anticipate the impact.
“Because of this story, we have sold more onions than in the last five years,” the company said. “Besides, now on our website you can find a new product -“ sexy bow ”.
