Facebook announced two ranking updates to the algorithm that drives the News Feed.
What
Known
The first algorithm is designed to determinepriority for the user's friends, and the second for the most relevant links. The changes are based on the results of Facebook surveys conducted last year. The company said the updates will happen gradually and users won't even notice them right away.
This does not mean that the news feed will be limited to the posts of only certain people. It’s just that posts from the most interesting pages will be higher in the news feed.
Facebook will also change the appearance of links based onsurveys that were conducted back in April. Users were asked to describe which links they found most interesting. From these surveys, Facebook was able to determine what made the link useful.
