Tesla again demonstrated its humanoid robots at Investor Day 2023 a few days ago
What is known
The developer of the device is a youngfigure company. The startup was founded last year and has already introduced its robot. Figure 01 is powered by artificial intelligence. According to the manufacturer, the humanoid is prone to self-learning and improving their skills.
Figure 01 is 168 cm tall and weighs 60 kg.The movement speed of the robot is 1.2 m/s (3.6 km/h), so if the machines rise up, you can easily run away from it. The device runs on battery power for 5 hours.
Unlike Tesla Optimus, our hero canboast improved electric drives that make its movements smoother. The head of the startup hopes that in the future, the humanoid gait will not differ from the human gait.
The company has developed five prototypes.Figure 01 has 25 levels of freedom. The robot is able to bend down, pick up an object weighing up to 20 kg from the floor and place it on a cabinet. In the near future, the developers intend to improve the mobility of the hands, and in 2024 Figure will launch a pilot program in which 50 robots will work in the warehouse. But the entire project cycle will take 2-3 decades.
The startup has set itself ambitious plans,which are not limited to the use of humanoids in shops, factories and warehouses. The company believes that a group of humanoid robots Figure 01 will be able to colonize other planets.
