Filming for Mortal Kombat has already begun and Kung Lao will be played by a stuntman from Kingsman

The search for writers and actors has ended, so New Line Cinema has begun filming a Mortal Kombat movie.

What is known

Mortal Kombat adaptation screenwriter GregRusso updated his Twitter feed with a photo of a movie clapperboard from the set. The bulk of the film will be shot in South Australia, with James Wan, who directed Aquaman, serving as producer. According to the screenwriter of the film, Greg Russo, the Mortal Kombat film will be close in spirit to Deadpool with its jokes and action.

Plus, according to Businesswire, filmingstarted in the expanded cast. Max Huang has joined the film to play Kung Lao. Before this, the guy made his mark as a stunt performer in Kingsman: The Secret Service, Hitman: Agent 47 and even Armor of God 3: Mission Zodiac.

The movie adaptation of Mortal Kombat will be released on March 5, 2021. Along with Kung Lao, the film will feature Liu Kang, Milena, Raiden, Jax, Sonya Blade, Kano, Sub-Zero and an unknown hero, possibly new to the series.
