Last week, Samsung introduced its foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, so now

All eyes are on the future flagships of 2022Galaxy S22 year. Despite the fact that their announcement is still 4-5 months away at best, the famous insider Ice Universe has already revealed the main characteristics of all three models.

What to expect

It looks like Samsung has decided to change its positioningand make the base Galaxy S22 a compact flagship that will compete with the iPhone 12 mini and, most likely, the iPhone 13 mini. If the Galaxy S21 has a 6.2-inch screen, then the Galaxy S22 will have an even smaller one - 6.01 inches. If this information is confirmed, the smartphone will become the smallest Galaxy S device since 2019's Galaxy S10e.

At the same time, the Galaxy S22+ should receive6.55-inch display, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 6.81-inch display. For comparison, the S21+ has 6.7 inches and the S21 Ultra has 6.8 inches. That is, the Galaxy S22+ will also become more compact compared to its predecessor.

Unfortunately, not only screens will become smaller, but also batteries. The battery capacity of the S22 and S22+ will be 3800 mAh and 4000 mAh respectively, while the S22 Ultra will retain a 5000 mAh battery. There is no information about charging speed yet.

All three models should get a 120Hz screen refresh rate, but only the Galaxy S22 Ultra will boast a QHD+ resolution and an LTPO panel that allows you to dynamically change the refresh rate.

Regarding cameras, Galaxy S22 and S22+, howexpected to use an all-new 50-megapixel 1/1.55-inch main sensor, as well as a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The S22 Ultra, on the other hand, will have a 108MP main camera and three additional 12MP sensors - a telephoto with 3x optical zoom, a periscope with 10x optical zoom, and an ultra-wide lens.

Recall that sources also report that most of the Samsung Galaxy S22 flagships will receive Snapdragon 898 processors instead of Exynos 2200.
