According to the State Committee for Hygiene and Health of the People's Republic of China, a 41-year-old man became infected.
At the end of April, he felt a fever; a few days later, due to his condition worsening, he consulted a doctor and was hospitalized.
Laboratory tests showed that he had contracted a type of bird flu that had not yet been transmitted to humans. It is not clear how exactly the infection occurred.
H10N3 originated from birds, and genome analysis showed that the virus could not effectively infect humans.
