Five Vitamins to Avoid: A Pharmacist's Opinion

Most of us can get all the vitamins we need from food. However, there are times when

a person needs to take a certain vitaminas a food additive. But in reality, according to pharmacist Christina Telami, some vitamins may have side effects or be ineffective. Discuss

Dr. Christina Telami explained which vitamins are best avoided and why.

  1. Fish fat. The problem is that these supplements containa lot of omega-3 fatty acids, and these fatty acids are polyunsaturated. These fats can cause inflammation in the body. And if there are too many polyunsaturated fats, then this slows down the metabolism.

  2. Iron. Too much iron can increase inflammation. And this inflammation can occur when iron enters into a reaction with hydrogen peroxide in the body. Also, when iron levels are too high, endometriosis, diabetes, insulin resistance, etc. can worsen. Instead of iron supplements, eat foods high in copper.

  1. Vitamin D. In addition to adequate amounts of vitamin D,the body should have normal levels of vitamin A and magnesium. The liver should also function well. That is, the cause of a lack of vitamin D can be a lack of these elements, a poorly functioning liver, a diet low in fat, or lack of sunlight.

  2. Zinc. Excess zinc can lower levelscopper in the body, and vice versa. Also, if your zinc levels are too low, then this may indicate a lack of magnesium, since the liver uses zinc as a replacement.

  3. Multivitamins. Most of these supplements containsubstances listed above. Their intake can lead to a mineral imbalance in the body. Also in many multivitamins, vitamin A comes in the form of beta-carotene. By taking beta-carotene, you reduce the amount of active vitamin A. Finally, in most multivitamins you will find synthetic and isolated forms of nutrients, and they affect the body differently than if you get them from food.
