The first smartphones on the domestic Aurora OS will be released by the electronics distributor Marvel Distribution: he
The user will be given a choice to install the OS: Android or "Aurora". The latter was developed by a company owned by Rostelecom.
Initially, smartphones will use Chinese components and processors from the Taiwanese company MediaTek. In the future, developers want to start producing components in Russia.
According to Marvel, the first batch of smartphones will be ready in mid-summer. Taking into account the time to adapt the Aurora OS, which will take four to six months, smartphone shipments will begin in the fall.
So far in Russia there are only tablets running the Russian operating system.
The publication notes that earlier attempts to create domestic smartphones were not successful.
