For the first time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine showed the fire work of the Slovak self-propelled howitzer Zuzana 2 worth almost € 7,000,000

The Ukrainian military showed for the first time the fire operation of the Slovak Zuzana 2 self-propelled artillery mount.

What is known

Previously, we have already seen how the howitzer rides onterritory of Ukraine, and now we can see how it shoots. According to open sources, the Armed Forces received eight self-propelled artillery mounts from Slovakia. The cost of one is approximately €7 million, based on the fact that Slovakia paid €172 million for 25 guns in 2018.

Zuzana 2 is a modification of an older oneCzechoslovakian self-propelled howitzer Dana. It is built on a Tatra chassis with an 8×8 wheel arrangement and can reach speeds of 80 km/h or 40 km/h on the highway or rough terrain, respectively. The power reserve is up to 750 km.

Zuzana 2 is equipped with a 155 mm gun with a lengthbarrel 52 caliber. The maximum firing range is 41 km. Ammunition consists of 40 shells. Thanks to the automatic charging system, the howitzer can fire three shots per minute. In addition to the main gun, the artillery mount is equipped with 7.62 mm or 12.7 mm machine guns.
