Found a new explanation for the Bigfoot phenomenon

All are likely linked to black bear populations, according to the study. Ursus americanus, or American

black bear, usually moves onon all fours. But sometimes these animals stand up to get a better look or smell something intriguing. From some angles they may look like humanoid creatures.

Bigfoot sighting data thatused by Foxon came from the Bigfoot Field Explorers Organization. Its staff maintains a geographic database of eyewitness accounts, mostly dating back to the 20th century. Foxon then cross-referenced this information with local population density statistics, the distribution of black bears. Misidentified black bears largely explain the appearance of Bigfoot, the author of the study claims.

Is Bigfoot real? The truth about the main “evidence” of a popular myth

“It is noteworthy that Bigfoot is alsoobserved in states where there are no known breeding populations of black bear,” says Foxon. “That doesn't mean there's an unknown hominid in North America. This is most likely due to misidentification of other animals.”

Also, the author of the study believes that the yeti in the mountains of Asia is just an Asian black bear, a Himalayan brown bear, or a Tibetan brown bear.
