Found a new way to improve libido in men and women

Scientists from Imperial College London claim that the hormone kisspeptin will help men and women

who suffer from low libido.

Kisspeptin is naturally foundin the human body. It regulates the release of sex hormones and ensures normal reproductive function. The hormone plays a vital role in the onset of puberty in both men and women. According to research, kisspeptin can stimulate the functioning of bundles of nerve fibers in the brain that are “responsible” for human sexual desire.

"Kisspeptin enhances the feeling of romancelove. Our study showed that the hormone increases brain activity associated with desire, and, interestingly, this stimulating effect is even greater in men with low libido,” the scientists explain.

The authors of the study conducted two experimentswith separate groups of subjects. In the first experiment, 32 heterosexual women aged from 19 to 48 years took part, and in the second experiment, 32 heterosexual men aged from 21 to 21 took part. bsp;52 years. Subjects in both studies completed the questionnaire twice during the experiment; once when they were given kisspeptin, and once when they received a placebo.

When administering kisspeptin and placebo, subjectsin both experiments they watched erotic videos and regular content. Meanwhile, the researchers mapped the subjects' brain activity using MRI. During the experiments, participants were not told which infusion (hormone or placebo) they were receiving.

At the end of the first experiment, the participantsadmitted that they felt an improvement in their sex drive. Some subjects perceived themselves to be “sexier” when they were injected with kisspeptin. In MRI scans, scientists found an increase in pathways in the brain that control attraction after administration of kisspeptin. Thus, the hormone increased activity in the hippocampus region in women. This part of the brain is primarily associated with sexual desire. No such changes were observed during placebo administration.

Interestingly, the researchers recordedSimilar results were found in the second study, with the participation of men. Kisspeptin helped subjects feel more confident and their erections became stronger. The use of this hormone is a fundamentally new solution to the problem of low libido. It works for both sexes and affects brain function. In addition, according to the scientists, no side effects were observed in all study participants.
