Now the flights of supersonic aircraft over populated areas are prohibited.At supersonic speeds, shock waves are generated on the airframe.
American developers have created a three-dimensionalmodel of a supersonic passenger high-wing aircraft with a streamlined fuselage and an upwardly curved wing. Jet engines are placed under the wing on small wings. The idea is that during flight, shock waves will first move downward and then be reflected upward. They will be reflected from the boundary layer that forms between the free-flowing air stream and the jet stream of the engines.
