Found a way to steal data from computers through the operation of their cooling system

A way has been found to steal data from computers through the operation of their cooling system. The method is very exotic.

It was discovered by Israeli researchers. As experts explained, hackers can encode data so that they can then be read from the vibrations created by the PC due to the fan. This way, information can be quietly transferred to a smartphone that is located close to the victim’s computer.

Malicious software canmanipulate fan speed. And accelerometers in smartphones are not protected, so they can be accessed by any application without special user permissions.

The researchers called three security measures, which can protect your computer from such an attack. Or the CPU must constantly work in maximum power mode. Or you need to set a fixed fan speed. Or limit processor performance.
