French court cuts Apple's antitrust fine almost threefold to €372 million

Apple will pay almost €400 million in fines over anti-competitive practices. The French court accepted

decision to reduce the initial penalty amount by approximately €700 million.

Antimonopoly Committee of France in 2020accused the American company of interfering with the pricing policy of retail chains and distributors that traded in Apple products. According to the regulator, the Cupertino manufacturer forced them to set the cost of goods in accordance with the prices of the official store.

Apple was initially fined €1.1 billion, whichwas a record for the antimonopoly services of France. However, the Paris Court of Appeal decided to reduce the amount of the penalty to €372 million, Reuters reports, citing its own sources. Apple has not yet commented on the court's decision.
