The authors of the new work used the results of swabs for COVID-19 from 98.2 thousand people who were taken in England in
The researchers concluded that completelyvaccinated people are less likely to transmit the virus to others, since on average they have a lower viral load. And also those who have received two components of the COVID-19 vaccine are three times less likely to contract the coronavirus than unvaccinated people.
Based on the collected data, the researchersit was estimated that in fully vaccinated people, the risk of infection, including asymptomatic infection, was reduced by about 50-60% compared to unvaccinated people.
In addition, the twice vaccinated were less likely to get a positive test result after a one-time contact with a COVID-19 patient (3.84%).
Today's results are strikinga reminder of the importance of getting vaccinated against COVID-19, as unvaccinated people are three times more likely to test positive at this stage than those who are fully vaccinated.

However, Beaver added that the risk of infection still exists, since no vaccine is 100% effective, which means that some people who have been vaccinated twice can still get the virus.
