Future tests of the Russian Zircon hypersonic missile revealed

A source in the military-industrial complex told the TASS agency that in 2021 there will be

state tests of the Zircon hypersonic missile. He also told what launches will be carried out as part of them.

State tests will begin after completion of flight design tests. As part of the latter, two more launches are planned.

In total, in the first half of 2021 will be completedfour launches of Zircon from the frigate Admiral Gorshkov. In the second half of the year, flight development tests of the missile will begin from the Severodvinsk nuclear submarine. In this case, at least three launches are planned.

We will remind, according to the President of Russia, "Zircon"can reach speeds of up to Mach 9. The missile is capable of striking both surface and ground targets. It operates at a distance of over a thousand kilometers.
