Galaxy Note 20 5G and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G officially unveiled

Review of Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra

After months of waiting and numerous rumors, it finally took place.

official release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20. As expected, Samsung was again able to surprise us, and we’ll tell you what exactly in what further in our review of new products.

Design

Bright, rectangular, but elegant.Note phones have always had sharper lines and angles compared to the Galaxy S phones. This concept kind of matches their "notepad" ethos and shows a more serious tone. Both the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra feature a modern, premium design. Ultra— It's a typical glass sandwich panel, but the back panel has a soft matte finish. The Note 20 is clad in polycarbonate. Both have super-thin bezels around the displays and impressive camera modules on the back.

Instead of bright 2019 Samsung Notes colors onthis time I chose more mature, muted colors. The Note 20 Ultra is available in black, white or the new bronze color, which we believe will be the most popular. The Note 20 comes in the same bronze color, followed by green and gray.

They don't vary much in size. The Note 20 Ultra measures 77.2 x 164.8 x 8.1 cm, while the Note 20 is only slightly smaller — 75.2 x 161.6 x 8.3 cm. Obviously, both of them are fully packed with powerful internal components and a battery to keep them alive. The Note 20 Ultra weighs 208g, while the Note 20 is slightly lighter — 192

Another noticeable difference between them — Vwhile both have a back panel that curves towards the edges for ergonomics, only the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has a side-mounted display on the front. The Note 20 has a more classic flat screen that will appeal to those who aren't fans of the curved screen.

Display

Of course, both phones have AMOLED panels. So, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has a WQHD+ screen with a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, while the Note 20 — 1080x. Panel 2400 FHD+. That's 393 pixels per inch on the Note 20 and an insane 511 PPI on the Note 20 Ultra.

But while resolution is not an issue —it's clear enough on both phones — Only the Note 20 Ultra has an ultra-high refresh rate. The Ultra's AMOLED screen has a dynamic refresh rate of 120Hz, while the Galaxy Note 20 will be stuck at 60Hz.

Displays run almost edge-to-edge thanks toultra-thin bezel and only have a tiny hole in the center of the top for a selfie camera. A design aesthetic that we are all almost used to.

Specifications

Galaxy Note has always been the "king of tech"characteristics". Note 20 Ultra — It's certainly the most powerful Note yet, with a 3.0GHz octa-core processor built on a 7nm process, a choice of 8GB or 12GB of RAM, and storage options ranging from 128GB to 512GB with a microSD slot for expansion. The Galaxy Note 20 has an octa-core 7nm chip clocked at 2.7GHz, 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of storage.

Both the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra will besupport 5G connectivity, but depending on your market and location, you may only be able to access 4G models. The 4G Note 20 Ultra will only have 8GB of RAM but will have three different storage options, while the 4G Note 20 will only come in one variant — 8 GB / 256 GB.

Camera

The camera modules of Note 20 phones are definitelylook like they are needed for the business. The Note 20 Ultra certainly pushes things to their limits. It has a 108MP main camera, a 12MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 12MP telephoto lens. Thanks to clever optics, it provides 5x pure optical zoom. Thanks to software enhancements, we get 50x super-resolution zoom for maximum image enhancement.

Galaxy Note 20 is a little more modest — him12 MP main camera, 12 MP ultra-wide-angle and 64 MP telephoto. There's no pure optical zoom, but there is 3x hybrid zoom and 30x super-resolution software zoom.

Both camera modules feature optical image stabilization, which improves video recording stability and improves low-light shots when you need longer shutter settings.

The Galaxy Note 20 series takes things to the next levelcinematic level with 8K video recording at 24 frames per second. You have a full-fledged professional mode that gives you access to all camera settings — even adjusting directional audio recording by adjusting the gain of the three internal microphones.

On the front, it looks like we have the same selfie cameras for both phones — 10 megapixel camera with dual pixel autofocus.

Improved S Pen

S Pen — This is a proprietary Note feature:a Wacom-powered stylus located right inside the phone. It's been providing Note fans with a realistic writing and drawing experience for years, and this year it's getting another upgrade. Its gyroscope and acceleration sensors have been improved to achieve an 8ms response time and greater sensitivity to various movements and tilts, making it feel more natural.

DeX — improved wireless connectivity

Samsung DeX — quite an interesting nichea feature that continues to evolve. It turns your phone into a mini PC, completely changing the interface to a desktop computer — you only need to connect it to an external monitor and keyboard.

Previously, this required a DeX dock. Then the DeX cable. Well, in 2020 — wireless! You can connect your Galaxy Note 20 or Note 20 Ultra to any smart TV (Miracast) and you will get this desktop experience in no time.
