Germany asks Sweden to transfer IRIS-T air defense and additional missiles to Ukraine

Bloomberg, Germany asks Swedentransfer to the Ukrainian Armed Forces launchers that are compatible with the IRIS-T air defense system. In addition, Germany also wants Sweden to send additional missiles to Ukraine.

Unfortunately, it is not yet known at what stage the negotiations are at. By the way, according to journalists, Germany plans to keep its promise and transfer three additional IRIS-T air defense systems to the Ukrainian Armed Forces this year.

For those who are not in the know

IRIS-T is a medium-sized anti-aircraft missile systemrange of action. It was developed by the German company Diehl Defense in 2014. The complex is designed to destroy airplanes, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise and ballistic missiles. IRIS-T is considered one of the most advanced air defense systems. Currently, Ukraine is armed with one air defense missile system battery.
