Germany has announced that it will fine Telegram 5.125 million euros for non-compliance with the country's laws.

The Federal Department of Justice stated thatTelegram has not established a way to report illegal content to the German authorities, nor has it designated a local authorized recipient. Both of these requirements are described in German laws that govern large online platforms.
German officials said they repeatedly failed to transfer documents to the Telegram office in Dubai, despite support from the authorities of the United Arab Emirates.
It is noted that the fine can be appealed.
