Germany handed over to Slovakia the second tank Leopard 2A4 to replace the BMP-1, which went to Ukraine

What is known

Last year, the Slovak Ministry of Defense agreed to send 30 Soviet BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Instead, Slovakia will receive 15 German Leopard 2A4 tanks.

In mid-December 2022, the first Leopard 2A4arrived in Slovakia. Germany recently delivered a second tank. Another 13 combat vehicles will be transferred to Bratislava by the end of this year. Berlin also supplies ammunition and communications equipment.
