Germany will give Ukraine an additional batch of MLRS MARS II and self-propelled guns PzH 2000 by the end of 2022

We recently wrote that Germany is going to send an additional batch of MARS II MLRS and self-propelled guns to Ukraine

PzH 2000 howitzers. It has now become known exactly when the equipment will be received by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

When to expect

According to the Minister of DefenseGermany Christine Lambrecht, the Ukrainian military will receive a new batch of weapons by the end of this year. We are talking about at least four self-propelled guns. That is, Ukraine will be armed with 22 Panzerhaubitze 2000 (14 from Germany and 8 from the Netherlands). But there is no information yet on how many additional MLRS will be transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

For those who are not in the know

PzH-2000 (Panzerhaubitze 2000) is a 155 mmself-propelled gun-howitzer, developed by the German concern Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. She was adopted by the Bundeswehr in the fall of 1998. It uses a 52 caliber (8 m) barrel, an automatic loading system with 60 rounds of ammunition, 228 modular propellant charges and a modern ground navigation system. The firing range of the Panzerhaubitze 2000 is 30-50 km (depending on the projectile).

PzH 2000

Mars II is a European upgradeAmerican multiple launch rocket system M270. It is equipped with an updated fire control system from Airbus Defense and Space, which allows the use of missiles M31, M31A1, M32 and AT2. The firing range of Mars II is up to 70 km.
