Gigafactory in Texas produced 5,000 Tesla Model Y electric vehicles for the first time in a week

Tesla's Texas Gigafactory recently celebrated a new milestone. It reached its goal, which

was to produce 5,000 Model Y electric vehicles within a week.

What is known

Tesla is trying to simultaneously increaseproduction of electric cars at Gigafactory plants in Berlin and Texas. This created friendly competition between the two production sites.

The Berlin company was the first to achievethe set goal. Model Y production rose to 5,000 units a week in March this year. The Texas plant was a little behind. By April, only 4,000 cars rolled off the assembly line every week. The company announced the day before reaching the level of 5,000 electric vehicles.
