Google announced proprietary Tensor processor for Pixel smartphones

Google has revealed details of the future Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones; their key feature is the proprietary chipset

Tensor.Note that this is Google's first full-fledged single-chip platform for smartphones. Analysts are wondering whether the company will be able to compete with competitors such as Qulacomm, MediaTek or Samsung?

The new chip will be one of the most interestingdetails of upcoming smartphones. According to available data, Samsung participated in its development. Tensor places particular emphasis on optimizing performance for processing artificial intelligence and machine learning tasks.

Among other things, Tensor will be able to boastenhanced security of user data using the Titan M2 encryption key. In terms of performance, Google has yet to reveal the chipset's test results. And yet, analysts suggest that Tensor will be able to match Apple's performance in terms of performance.

It also became known that the Pixel 6 Pro will befeatures a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone also has three cameras on the back. Google isn't sharing camera specs other than the main wide-angle sensor takes in 150% more light. The regular Pixel 6 will have a 6.4-inch FHD+ screen with a 90Hz refresh rate.

While there will be memory differences between the phones, both will feature a new Tensor SoC, a Titan M2 security chip, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The colors of the two types of phones will be slightly different.
