Google is preparing Pixel 5a, Pixel 6 and foldable smartphone for next year

A certain internal Google document fell into the hands of 9to5Google journalists, which revealed the company’s plans

next year.

What to expect

The document mentions four new devices codenamed Barbette, Raven, Oriole and Passport.

Journalists suggest that Barbette is Pixel5a, which will replace the Pixel 4a presented recently. It is described as a “mid-year budget device” and is due out in the second quarter of 2021.

Raven and Oriole have been linked to the next Pixel 6 flagships, most likely the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 XL. They will be presented in the fourth quarter of 2021 - apparently in the fall, as usual.

The Passport remains a mystery, but there isspeculation is that this is Google's first foldable smartphone. Last year, company representatives talked about the development of such a device, but so far they have not shown the finished product. Passport will also be presented in the fourth quarter of next year.

Google representatives did not comment on this leak.

We will remind, this fall will debut Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5. Most likely, the announcement will take place on October 8th.
