Google has developed a special application with a voice assistant for people with disabilities
The application is suitable for users withstuttering, dysarthria - a speech defect caused by limited mobility of the speech organs and other disorders. Such people find it difficult to communicate with other people and with voice assistants in devices. To help such users, Google created the Relate application, which, when first launched, asks the user to repeat the same phrase several times to analyze the specifics of pronunciation.
The company is now recruiting beta testers forchecking the application, so so far it is known about two main functions: "Listen" - recording and transcription of speech into text in real time, "Repeat" - reformulation of the spoken sentence for its new processing. After the application creates text based on the user's speech, it translates it into synthesized clear speech and issues a command to the voice assistant. Or you can run this synthesized speech for other people.
The app is now available for English-speaking beta testers in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
