Google has removed another popular application due to the trojan

Google has removed the popular CamScanner app from its Google Play store. It has been available for download since 2010.

According to Kaspersky, malicious codeCamScanner littered the smartphone with advertisements and subscribed users to paid subscriptions. In addition, the trojan could load additional software without the knowledge of the owner.

CamScanner was used for scanningPDF documents. Before being removed from the Google Play store, the app had over 100 million downloads and 1.8 million positive reviews. Kaspersky added that in the latest updates, the developers removed the virus from the program.

The incident once again reminds us that even proven and old applications still remain vulnerable to hacker attacks.
