Last week, Google introduced the new Pixel 5a smartphone, and recently dedicated an advertising video to it.
And - irony
Yes, perhaps this is the most detailed and longestadvertisement for regular 3.5mm audio output - the video is just over 2 minutes long. Moreover, the company did not skimp on epithets: the connector is described as “a magnificent achievement that extracts from our past and propels us into the future.” Additionally, the ad uses footage of the space station docking to highlight the “clicky feeling” you get when you connect the headphones to your Google Phone.
"Call it perfectly symmetricalthe technological marvel of a “headphone jack” may seem like an understatement... but technically it is, so... fair enough. Here! Headphone jack on Google Pixel 5a with 5G,” says the description of the video.
It seems that in this way Google decided to parody old Apple commercials with the participation of former chief designer Jony Ive. Moreover, the voiceover is very similar to Ive's voice.
The irony is that the future flagships Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will lose this very connector.
