Google Pay gets a major update: it's now a financial management service

Google, as promised, held a small online event yesterday where it showed its

updated Google Pay app.

What is known

Now this is not just a program for NFC payments, but an entire service for managing finances that can compete with Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, PayPal, Venmo, etc.

The application received a new icon and completelyredesigned appearance with three tabs: Pay, Explore and Insights. The first one displays your payment history. The second one shows various promotions and offers. The third allows you to connect to and manage your bank account through the Google Pay app.

Interesting things about the updated service are also worthhighlight the ability to scan your receipts into Gmail and Google Photos. This way, Google Pay can provide reminders for monthly payments, etc. Also, thanks to the integration of Google Pay into the system, you will be able to find payments and statements directly in Google search. Google plans to launch Plex, a new type of bank account, next year. Essentially, the Google Pay app will turn into a mobile bank.
