Google Photos “Locked Folder” coming to iOS

Google Photos users on iPhone and iPad will soon be able to lock their most important images in a special

password-protected folder, thanks to a new feature coming to the iOS app.

Currently Locked Folder function,privacy-focused, only available on Pixel phones, and allows users to save photos and videos in an app in a separate space that requires a passcode or fingerprint to access.

Media files saved in the folder remainhidden, meaning sensitive photos don't show up when you scroll through Google Photos or other apps on your device. Google says the feature will arrive on iOS “early next year”.

It is important to note that, at least in the formin which it works now on Pixel phones, any cloud backups of items placed in a locked folder are automatically deleted from Google's servers.
