Google Pixel 6 can be unlocked with a second SIM

Software developer David Schütz has found a way to unlock the Pixel 6 smartphone.

using a second SIM card.

What is known

In order to remove the lock, you need to doa few simple steps, the most difficult of which is buying a new SIM card. First you need to scan your fingerprint incorrectly several times in a row so that the smartphone asks for a password.

Next, replace the SIM card with a new one, afterwhich the Pixel 6 will open a window to enter a PIN code. After entering the PIN incorrectly (three times), the system will request a PUK code. And here you already need to enter the correct PUK from the purchased SIM card. After entering the correct PUK, the smartphone will prompt the user to set a new PIN code and unlock it.

David Schutz could get up to $100,000 fordiscovered a vulnerability, but was a little late. As it turned out, Google already knew about the problem and was working to fix it. But Google still paid the specialist a reward of $70,000. The vulnerabilities are eliminated with the installation of the November update to the Android 13 operating system.
