Google plans to close its VR-studio Spotlight Stories

Spotlight Stories launched in 2013 and has never made a profit since then. Best Studio Performance, Pearl, 2017

won an Emmy Award and was nominated for an Oscar.

The company also worked with director Wes Anders to create virtual reality for his animated film Isle of Dogs.

A Google spokesman declined to comment on the closure of the project, promising to provide details later.
