Google plans to close its VR-studio Spotlight Stories

Spotlight Stories was launched in 2013 and since then has never made a profit. The best studio work, the film Pearl, in 2017

received an Emmy Award and was nominated for an Oscar.

In addition, the company worked with director Wes Anders and was involved in creating virtual reality for his animated film Isle of Dogs.

A Google spokesman declined to comment on the closure of the project, promising to provide details later.

Previously, the Lyft taxi booking service patented the integration of XR technologies - combining AR and VR systems - in the process of traveling by car.
