Google Play allowed third-party payment methods in Russia? Not so simple!

In March of this year, Google limited the operation of the Google Play store in Russia, prohibiting payments, and therefore

buy paid applications and subscriptions.Yesterday, the news spread across the RuNet that Google had changed payment rules, allowing the use of alternative payment methods in Russia starting from August 2. And while this is true, there are a couple of important clarifications that need to be made. Firstly, this all concerns payment for purchases.insideapplications, and not the offers themselves, which will remain unavailable for purchase and download from Russia.

Secondly, restrictions have been lifted not from users, but fromapplication developerswho have now receivedpossibilityimplement third-party payment services into your applicationssystem. Therefore, it is far from a fact that all of them will want to use it. In fact, Google simply included the Russian Federation in the list of 27 EU countries that also received this privilege at the end of July.
