Great addition to Leopard 2: the German government approved the supply of 88 Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine

A couple of hours ago, we wrote that Germany is considering transferring Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine. Now

there was information that the government of the country approved the supply.

What is known

This was announced by a government spokesmanSteffen Hebestreit during a press briefing, writes Politico. Hebestreit did not name the number of tanks, but earlier it was 88 units. Presumably, the amount of weapons will be more than 100 million euros.

Unfortunately, when the tanks will arrive in Ukraine is still unknown. By the way, in addition to Leopard 1, Germany will also transfer 14 Leopard 2 tanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Leopard 1 is Germany's main battle tank.It began to be developed after the Second World War together with France, but then the cooperation was stopped. Leopard 1 is in service with 12 countries.
