What is known
Cryptocurrency exchange Binance once againsuffered from a cyber attack. Attackers stole $570 million in BNB cryptocurrency. Initially, it was reported that the exchange lost $110 million, but then it became known about a fivefold increase in damage.
Thanks to the attack on the cross-chain bridge, hackers were able tomove BNB tokens off the network. 2 million coins were stolen. Binance later stated that the network was operating normally and user funds were safe. In addition, the company was able to freeze $7 million.
After the information about the hack appeared, the value of the BNB cryptocurrency fell by more than 3%. The price of the coin on the morning of October 7 was $285. At the time of writing, the cryptocurrency has fallen in price by another $3.
