HIMARS destroyed a Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile system that hit a pizzeria in Kramatorsk

A few days ago we wrote about the destruction of the launcher and radar of the S-400 Triumph air defense system (according to

NATO classification - SA-21 Growler). As it became known, it was this anti-aircraft missile system that was used for a missile attack on Kramatorsk at the end of June 2023.

What is known

The Russian army has long been using systemsair defense in the ground-to-ground mode for delivering strikes against ground targets. Often these are civilian facilities that are not related to military infrastructure. This is exactly what happened at the end of last month.

On June 27, the Russians attacked a pizzeria incity ​​of Kramatorsk. The rocket attack killed 12 people, including three children. According to the Center for Strategic Communications, the missile was launched from the S-400 Triumph complex.

The anti-aircraft missile system was located in the areathe city of Debaltseve. The distance from it to Kramatorsk is less than 100 km. The missile, which flies along a ballistic trajectory, has a warhead weighing about 200 kg and a launch range of more than 200 km.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the S-400"Triumph" with high-precision GMLRS projectiles from the M142 HIMARS complex. This information was confirmed by the operational command "North". As a result of an accurate hit, the 92N6A radar station and the 5P85SM2-01 launcher were burned to the ground.
