The new Honor Band 5 is called a «killer»fitness tracker Xiaomi Mi Band 4. Yes, indeed, these are two main competitors, but their comparison will be a little later. For now, let’s look in detail at all the characteristics and capabilities of the Honor Band 5, which are already known.

Design
The overall appearance of the fifth version of the bracelet as a wholesimilar to the fourth generation. This is a case with a rectangular dial, under which there is a so-called HOME button. It is securely integrated into the strap itself, which is represented by several color options: blue, green, black and pink. Since the design of Band 4 and Band 5 is similar, respectively, you will be able to use the straps from the previous version from the current version, if suddenly it is necessary. Same thing with the charging station.
The strap uses the classic look of a buckle, which is a bit frustrating. For me personally, this is not the most convenient option, the implementation from Xiaomi is much more comfortable to wear.
Display
Honor Band 5 is equipped with a 0.95-inch colorAMOLED screen with a resolution of 240x120 and a pixel density of 282 ppi. The screen is covered with 2.5D curved glass to ensure the best scratch resistance. The user has the ability to install and change dials at will. Third-party watch faces are also supported. I will note that I like the watch faces on the Honor Band 5 much more due to their minimalism and information content. It is worth noting that in Band 4 the display had the same characteristics, so there are no serious differences between the previous version and the current one.
Oxygen analysis in the blood
The most important feature of the new product — this is a functiondetection of oxygen in the blood, which allows you to determine the level of oxygen saturation in the blood. Is this necessary for the average average user? I don't think it's necessary. But there will also be those users for whom this feature will become fundamental when choosing a bracelet. This applies to older people, workers with high-intensity mental workload, etc.
It is reported that with indicators:
● 100% — 90% blood oxygen level is normal.
● 89% — 70% need to reduce activity, pay attention to rest; if there is any discomfort, it is recommended to consult a doctor.
● Less than 70% need to consult a doctor in time.
Other features
Honor Band 5 also supports 24-hourheart rate monitoring, built-in high-precision algorithm of artificial intelligence, full accuracy reaches 97.8%. It also uses Huawei TruSleep 2.0 technology, which provides complete control and analysis of your sleep. The accelerometer sensor is responsible for the presence of several sport modes. By the way, swimming here too. There are 10 kinds of sports modes.
In addition, the fitness tracker has manyuseful functions in everyday life: notifications and alerts, viewing unread messages in real time, phone search, remote camera and others. The operation of individual functions depends on the firmware version.
What's up with NFC?
The version of Honor Band 5 with NFC is, and it is sold,but for Russian users it does not matter. Read more about it here. Mobile payments and contactless payment in Russia are not implemented here. Only payment for public transport in 252 cities of China, which is not relevant for us at all. There is support for intelligent home control HiLink, but for us, too, it is of little interest.
Battery
Honor Band 5 can last on one chargeup to 14 days. If its use is too active, then a little less. The battery capacity has increased almost 2 times — 195 mAh, which made it possible to increase the atomic operating time. If you do not use functions that involve sensors, then the operating time of the bracelet on a single charge will increase even more and significantly.
Price
The manufacturer did not go too far andoffered a fairly reasonable price tag. The standard version sells for about $27. The version with NFC, sales of which will start only on July 29, will cost a little more — 32 dollars. Thus, you can buy yourself an excellent fitness tracker that monitors your performance for less than 2,000 rubles. Sales have not yet started in Russia, but there is AliExpress, from where people are already actively ordering the new product.
