Luke Miani's YouTube channel tested the performance of the latest Apple MacBook Pro in five games. Discuss

Host Luke Miani tested the 14-inchApple MacBook Pro (2021) in basic configuration. It features an M1 Max chip, 24-core GPU, 32GB of RAM, 512GB of storage.

In Final Cut Pro (Render) the processor was onlythree seconds faster than the M1 Pro with 16 GB of RAM and a few seconds slower than the 16-inch Pro version on the M1 Max with 32 cores and 64 GB of RAM. In Final Cut Pro (Export), all models similarly had only a few seconds difference in results. In some other similar tests, the gap was more visible: for example, in Geekbench Compute it was 1000 points between laptops with 16-core, 24-core and 32-core GPUs. In all cases, MacBook Pro 14" with 32 GB of RAM and 24 cores, the results were in the middle.

From the games for testing, the blogger took Shadow of the Tomb Raider, CS: GO, Cities Skylines, Hitman, Civilization VI.

INShadow of the tomb raiderApple MacBook Pro on M1 Max, oddly enough, showed better average performance than the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Pro: 77 fps versus 55 fps. At the same time, the 16-inch MacBook Pro on M1 Max has 97 fps. There are some minor graphic artifacts.

GameCS: GOat a resolution of 3024x1890 pixels it ran at an impressive 97 fps. But in a more graphically complex oneCities SkylinesThe frame rate in 3K at high settings averaged 30-40 fps.

Hitmanruns on medium-high settings and 3Kwith FPS around 60 fps. The picture turns out quite clear, everything goes smoothly. And that's impressive, since the MacBook Pro isn't exactly a gaming laptop. Finally,Civilization VIwas running at 40 fps.
