Scientists have found that the feeling of happiness from free time is not always the case. Too much free time can even harm a person.
Researchers analyzed data from two surveysmore than 35 thousand US residents. In the surveys, participants noted how they spent the previous day (what they did) and how it affected them. It turned out that excess free hours negatively affects the feeling of well-being.

Moreover, those who had a maximum of two hoursfree time per day felt happier than people who had no free time at all. However, if people had more than five hours of free time, they felt worse.
Scientists have concluded that the most optimal – have two to three free hours a day.
