American scientists have found out after what period of time the likelihood of infection arises
The authors of the new scientific work analyzedarticles about antibody levels in people who have had various coronaviruses (SARS-CoV-2, SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV, HCoV OC43, HCoV-HKU1, HCoV-NL63 and HCoV-229E). There was also data on the timing of re-infection. In general, it was possible to collect data on the functioning of the immune system from 128 days to 28 years after infection.
Scientists have concluded that during a pandemicSecondary infection with SARS-CoV-2 can occur 3 or 63 months after peak antibody levels, with an average of 16 months. This period turned out to be shorter than that of other coronaviruses.
The authors noted that their results objected to claims that the epidemic could be defeated through herd immunity and without vaccinations.
